Join Ricky for a 45min Pilates class for FREE

Before the launch of our new class Lunchtime Mat Pilates, we are offering you a Taster class. This is a great opportunity to try it out and meet our new teacher Ricky Lee Huxstep.

What is Mat Pilates?
Joseph Pilates created a system of exercises with the intention to strengthen the human mind and body. Mat Pilates uses movements against resistance to strengthen and tone the body. It also promotes efficient use of movement through greater alignment and focus. The breath is therefore incorporated to elongate and deepen the physical movements to strengthen the mind body connection.

Joseph Pilates presents his method as the art of controlled movements. It should look and feel like a workout when properly done. If practiced regularly, Pilates can improve flexibility, build strength and develop control and endurance in the entire body. It puts emphasis on developing a strong core and improving coordination and balance.

Who is the teacher?
Ricky Lee Huxstep has been teaching yoga, pilates and movement training for over 3 years. He holds a degree in Contemporary Dance, gained from London Contemporary Dance School. Currently, he is studying a Master degree in Psychological Science, at Glasgow University. Based in Glasgow UK, Ricky also teaches in London, UK and Gothenburg, Sweden.

Ricky developed his teaching style over the years through his study in psychology, dance, functional movement and anatomy. Ricky wants his students to understand what they are doing and why. His classes focus on functional alignment, creative flow and awareness of the breath.

This class will start officially after the Easter Holidays, on Tuesday 23rd April, 13:15 – 14:00.
