Yoga Fundraiser for The Nicole & Jessica Foundation

Hope for Batten Disease

We are excited to announce a Yoga day Fundraiser for The Nicole & Jessica Rich Foundation to promote awareness of Batten Disease and support the Foundation.

What is Batten Disease?
Batten Disease is an extremely rare genetic disorder. Commonly referred to as Batten Disease, the Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinoses (NCLs) are a group of genetic metabolic life-limiting diseases which cause a progressive deterioration of the brain and nervous system. Children are healthy and develop normally for the first few years of their lives then their development begins to slow and begin to regress and their speech will decline. Children start to become unsteady of their feet, eventually resulting in them being unable to walk. Epilepsy is a huge part of the condition. Vision is gradually lost. By the age of 6, most children will be completely dependent on their families and carers for all of their daily needs. The BDFA estimate there are between 30 and 50 affected children in the UK.

Nicole & Jessica
Nicole & Jessica were diagnosed with Batten Disease in late 2016. You can read more about the lovely girls and their journey here:

Yoga Fundraiser Day
To support the Foundation, on Sunday 12th May, we will be offering 4 yoga classes on donation basis. Hundred percent of the proceeds will go towards The Nicole & Jessica Foundation. The suggested donation is £7 per person per class, but it can be more or less, depending on what you can afford.

The yoga classes will be taught by Camila Putti, Seasonal Yoga teacher and owner of Hope Studio.

10:00 – 11:00 – Seasonal Yoga Flow

11:30 – 12:30 – Yoga for Relaxation

12:30 – 14:00 – lunch break | Q&A with Liz Rich – grandmother of Nicole and Jessica

14:00 – 15:00 – Seasonal Yoga Flow

15:30 – 16:30 – Pranayama & Yoga Nidra

Classes must be booked online for free in advance, as the space is limited to 10 people per class. Donations will be collected on the day before or after class.

To reserve your place, go to our yoga schedule, choose May 12th in the calendar and book into the class of your preference or in all of them.  All classes are suitable for beginners and options/modifications for postures will be provided if needed.

Join us in this lovely Sunday and help us support the present and future of these two sweet girls Nicole & Jessica. Tea and snacks will be available throughout the day. If you can’t make it to the classes, pop in to say hello, to have some tea with us and know more about Batten Disease and The Nicole & Jessica Rich Foundation.

Looking forward to doing yoga with you!
