Donation based Yoga for Mental Wellness
Fridays from 12th October | 5:30 – 6:30pm
This is a donation based yoga class for mental wellness. All the proceeds will be sent to River Garden Aunchincruive (Independence From Drugs and Alcohol Scotland – IFDAS), which is a residential recovery community in Scotland that supports people to live a drug and alcohol-free life. River Garden Auchincruive is based on the principles of abstinence, trust, firm boundaries, mutual support, social enterprise, respect for life, and responsibility. You can find more information here: http://www.ifdas.net/
This class is suitable to everybody, people who have never done yoga before or have done yoga for years. In this class, we will explore the aspects of yoga that promotes a great sense of mental wellness and balance. Expect some stretching and strengthening poses to warm up, but the emphasis of this session will be on the mind: breathing techniques and pranayama, meditation, yoga nidra-deep relaxation and reflections on the yamas and niyamas (yoga’s ethical guide to living).
The suggested donation is £5, but feel free to donate whatever you can afford. This is a class for the community and money should not be a barrier for the practice of yoga. If you can’t afford any donation, no problem! You are very welcome anyways!
A free advanced booking is essential, as the studio can accommodate only 10 people. So, please, book online for free prior class.
